This piece was inspired by thoughts and feelings about Shelter.
Didier was sitting in the railway shelter at Montpelier station in Bristol. Discovering the unexpected beauty hidden in the layers of graffiti, tags and stickers on the once clear panes of glass, he captured this on camera.
His photos moved us to create this piece of music and video about what shelter means. Safety, protection, waiting for a bus, a train or even some harm to stop. Waiting for the storm, the rain or struggle to end. A place to be nourished, reflect, hope and maybe feel the warmth of kindness.
Using electronic instruments, a hypnotic bass line and overlays of experimental audio effects we combined lyrical piano and driving beats to create ‘Shelter’.
Didier Sajno and Helen Mason, a French/English duo, combine their varied audio inspirations and depth of experience to make the sound that is Elenoiid.
